Cheque & COD orders to Pending status with Pay Now redirect

Sets the Cheque and COD payment gateway order statuses to Pending Payment and redirects Cheque orders to the Order Payment page instead of the Thank You / receipt page. Useful for implementing the new Checkout Block with incompatible payment gateways as a next step – be sure to describe that for the customers in the payment method descriptions.

// Set COD Order Status
add_filter( 'woocommerce_cod_process_payment_order_status', function( $order_status ) {

	return 'pending';

} );

// Set Cheque Order Status
add_filter( 'woocommerce_cheque_process_payment_order_status', function( $order_status ) {

	return 'pending';

} );

// Thank You Page
add_action( 'woocommerce_thankyou', function( $order_id ) {

	// Order ID Required
	if( ! $order_id ) {

	// Get Order Object
	$order = wc_get_order( $order_id );

	// By Payment Method
	switch( $order->get_meta( '_payment_method', true ) ) {

		// Cheque Payment Redirect To Order Pay Page
		case 'cheque':
			wp_safe_redirect( $order->get_checkout_payment_url() );

} );
