Legacy Woo REST API moved to a plugin

About a dozen colorful wires on a large switchboard with dials and switches

Over the past few months I’ve received some inquiries about alerts related to the Legacy WooCommerce REST API moving to a plugin in Woo core 9.0.

These alerts come because this legacy support was left enabled. Realistically, it’s highly unlikely that in 2024 a feature that was deprecated back in June 2016 would still be in use. So the alert can in most cases be ignored. There is a separate alert that comes-up when activity has been detected on the legacy API endpoints.

If you’d like to test your own environment to be extra safe, here’s what to be on the lookout for. Check your server access logs for the following URIs. If you see no access to these, then you’re good to remove the legacy REST API plugin.
