Co-organizing WordCamp Santa Clarita

I’ve been working with lead organizer Joe Simpson Jr. and co-organizer Rebeca Godin forming WordCamp Santa Clarita 2019.

The event will be held on April 5th-6th, 2019 on a Friday and Saturday at College of the Canyons University Center during Spring Break time.

WordCamp is a worldwide series of conferences, volunteer organized and attended by hundreds of users of the open-source WordPress.org and related website software. Tickets cost $40 for both days, which includes full access, refreshments, lunches, and an event t-shirt. A speakers / sponsors event is commonly held on Friday evening, serving as gratitude and as a networking opportunity. A reception event is commonly held for all attendees on Saturday evening.

We have several WordCamps in Southern California. Historically held at CSU Los Angeles, UCI in Irvine, SolarMax in Riverside, and SDCC in San Diego. These events are organized and ushered by volunteers, whom you can identify wearing branded red t-shirts.

This is the inaugural event for Santa Clarita and the Northern valley areas surrounding Los Angeles. We also plan to attract participants from Antelope Valley, Central Valley, Santa Barbara, Ventura, and the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area.

Nearby WordPress Meet-up groups will be invited to promote and participate in the event. All users of WordPress software get an alert in their Admin Dashboard WordPress Events and News widget when community events near them are upcoming.
